copy paste, double pasting

The technical terms I use probably are totally incorrect... but please bear with me.

Lately whenever i try to copy paste (control c/control v) the outcome of the control v is double...

for instance i try to copy the word 'Aylor', the paste gives: AylorAylor

Is this some setting i accidentally triggered? (and if so: where to find it to correct it?)

Not that I am aware of, maybe it counted as double when you did the keyboard shortcut?
